Autumn in Lincolnshire: Where to Go and How to Get There

Autumn is a brilliant time to get out and explore Lincolnshire. The county has a lot going on between September and November. Wildlife, walks, events, and some genuinely great days out, and we’re here to get you there and back without the hassle of parking or driving.

Here’s our pick of the best things to do this season.

Donna Nook Grey Seals — Late October to December

If there’s one thing you do in Lincolnshire this autumn, make it Donna Nook. Every year from late October through December, thousands of grey seals come ashore at this nature reserve near North Somercotes to give birth to their pups. It’s one of the UK’s most accessible wildlife spectacles — you don’t need a boat or a long trek, just a short walk to the viewing area where you can watch mothers, pups, and massive bull seals up close. Peak time is mid to late November. The reserve is around 13 miles from Louth, and the approach roads are narrow, so let us drive while you enjoy it.

The Lincolnshire Wolds

The Wolds are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and never better than in autumn. The Hubbard’s Hills loop near Louth is a great starting point — easy going, dog-friendly, and gorgeous when the colours are at their peak. If you want more of a challenge, the Walesby and Tealby circular is a stunning 10-mile route through rolling hills. We can drop you at the trailhead and pick you up when you’re done.

Rand Farm Pumpkin Festival — Throughout October

Rand Farm Park near Market Rasen runs its Pumpkin Festival across the whole of October, with daytime, evening, and toddler sessions available. Pick your own pumpkin, meet the animals, and enjoy a proper autumn day out. Every paying child gets a free pumpkin to take home. It books up, so get in early — and if you’re heading out with the family and don’t want to deal with the car, we’ll sort the lift.

A Day in Lincoln

Lincoln in autumn is something else. The Cathedral Quarter, the castle, the cobbled streets — it all looks incredible when the light drops and the leaves are turning. The food around the Bailgate leans into game season in October, and there’s always something good on in the city. If you’re heading in for a day or an evening, skip the parking headache and book a taxi. You’ll enjoy it far more.
